Meg Ormiston is passionate
about transforming teaching and learning through the
power of digital tools. Meg loved being a classroom
teacher, but now she is always on the move
empowering educators through her powerful
presentations focused on change. Meg is an author of two books,
retired school
board member, adjunct professor, blogger,
consultant, keynote speaker, successful grant
development specialist, and most importantly a mom.
Meg is high energy, truly
motivational, but also very practical. Her current
research is focused on how curriculum can be
delivered through the use of visual images,
simulations and multimedia coupled with real time
assessment to check for comprehension.
On a recent trip to Northern Ireland this is what Chris
Scott, Principal had to say, “ Meg is warm, funny and energetic;
you will be tired just watching her! Above all, her
workshops are immensely practical, she makes you feel
she knows your classroom without even having set foot in
it.”
Improving student learning is her
goal for every professional development session. For
over 18 years Meg has planned professional development
programs that meet the needs of educators. A former
classroom teacher Meg addresses a wide range of
audiences at all levels pre-k-16.
Meg recognizes the importance of
helping teachers set high expectations and deliver
curriculum aligned to standards. Her upbeat presenting
style, her classroom background, and practical examples
make her highly credible and effective with teachers.
Her wide range of experiences and examples enrich her
writing and her presentations.
Meg holds a masters degree in
curriculum and instruction and uses current research and
practical methods to help teachers improve teaching and
learning in their classrooms. |
